- VMS Alarms Receives the 2010 GE Freedom Award
Warwick, RI – December 28, 2010 – VMS Alarms has been honored for its success as a dealer of GE Security products with the prestigious GE Freedom Award. Tim Meekin, GE Account Representative, presented the award on December 11, 2010 to the executive board of VMS Alarms. The award is presented to qualifying GE Security dealers who have top product sales and customer satisfaction. The company, an independent authorized dealer for both GE Security and Monitronics, has been in business since 2003 and has grown tremendously over the past seven years, protecting thousands of homes in Rhode Island and nationwide.
- VMS Alarms Featured in Fox Providence’s Rhode Show
Warwick, RI – December 21, 2010 – VMS Alarms was featured on today’s edition of The Rhode Show for the employment opportunities that they are offering. They are looking to hire 70-80 people locally in Rhode Island for administrative, sales and promotional representatives and customer service positions in 2011. In the feature, VMS Alarms CEO Jay Gotra is interviewed, saying, “…People that come out of Rhode Island are at a superior quality… my biggest asset is the people that work for me. It’s really the truth. I believe that if you have the right people you can do anything.” He goes on to say that almost no one is turned away for lack of qualifications and experience; the most important quality in a potential candidate is a positive attitude.
- Monitronics Named Frost & Sullivan 2010 Company of the Year
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. – December 20, 2010 – Based on its recent analysis of the alarm monitoring residential security market, Frost & Sullivan is recognizing Monitronics International, Inc. with the 2010 North American Frost & Sullivan Award for Company of the Year. Despite the impact of the global financial crisis and downturn in the security industry, Monitronics has consistently grown based on its industry-leading qualities.
- VMS Alarms CEO Jay Gotra Nominated for 2011 Small Business Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award
Warwick, RI – December 7, 2010 – Jay Gotra, CEO of VMS Alarms, has been nominated by Russell Gaston of Coastway Community Bank for the 2011 Small Business Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award. The award will be presented in May 2011 during Rhode Island Salute to Small Business Week, the premier small business award event in the state. The winner of the Rhode Island competition will go on to the New England regional competition and may go on to the national competition. The Rhode Island award winners will be honored in June 2011 and featured in the Small Business Week section of the Providence Business News.
